Terms of use
This is a translation. If it differs from the Czech version, the Czech version applies.
1. Who runs the app
The Dlužníček app (the “app”) is run by Česká IT Akademie, z.s., Preslova 72/25, Smíchov, 150 00 Prague 5, Czech Republic, company ID 17863201, registered in the register of associations kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, file L 77092 (“we”).
Contact: support@czechitacademy.cz.
These terms cover the app and the website dluznicek.czechitacademy.cz. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them.
2. What the app does
Dlužníček keeps track of shared costs in groups, such as a trip, a shared flat or a group of friends. It works out each member’s balance and suggests who should send how much to whom.
Dlužníček is not a payment service or a bank. It doesn’t move, hold or have access to money. The Pay screen only creates a QR code in the Czech QR Platba format (or a Revolut.me link) from the details the recipient entered. You send the payment yourself in your bank, and you and your bank are responsible for it.
Exchange rates come from the Czech National Bank. They are a guide and can be changed in the group. We don’t guarantee that they match the rate you actually paid.
3. Your account
- You sign in with Sign in with Apple (or Google). You don’t have a Dlužníček password, and we never see yours.
- The app is for people aged 15 and over.
- One account per person, and you may not pretend to be someone else.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you suspect misuse, let us know.
4. Groups and other people’s details
- Everything in a group, meaning expenses, notes, receipt photos and the change history, is visible to all members of that group.
- You can add people who don’t use the app, by name or nickname. Only do so with their knowledge, and don’t enter more about them than needed.
- Notes and photos are not the place for sensitive data such as health information, card numbers or passwords.
- A person who joins a group later can take over a name entered earlier, together with its history.
5. Fair use
Don’t use the app for anything unlawful, to harass others, to spread harmful content or to get around technical limits. Don’t try to break the app’s security, overload the server or access other people’s data. If you break these terms, we may limit or close your account.
6. Free and Premium
The free version has no time limit. Its limits are:
- up to 5 active groups per user (archived groups don’t count),
- expenses up to CZK 50,000 per group. Once a group reaches the limit, you can’t add new expenses, but you can still settle debts.
Premium is a subscription for CZK 39 a month or CZK 299 a year, VAT included. If App Store prices differ, the price shown in the App Store at purchase applies. Premium:
- unlocks one chosen group for all of its members, with no spending limit and with repeat payments,
- removes the active group limit for the subscriber,
- can be moved to another group at any time.
The subscription is sold and billed by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s terms. It renews automatically until you cancel it in App Store settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. After you cancel, Premium lasts until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
What the free version and Premium include may change. We will tell you in advance about any change that makes a subscription you already paid for worse.
7. Loyalty cards
The shop catalogue for loyalty cards contains names and logos that are trademarks of their owners. We use them only so you can recognise a card. We don’t work with these shops and they are not our partners. Shop data comes from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL) and Wikidata.
Only share a card with others where the loyalty programme’s rules allow it.
8. Availability and liability
We run the app with care, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We back up data regularly.
Balances and settle-up suggestions are a tool. Check the amount before you send money. We are not liable for damage caused by wrongly entered data, for payments you send or for the service being unavailable, except where liability can’t be excluded by law, in particular for harm to health or for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence.
9. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete account. What happens to your data is described in the privacy policy. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that separately.
We may close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we ever stop running the app, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and let you download your data as CSV.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add a feature or the law changes. We will announce material changes in the app or on this website at least 14 days in advance. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer, this doesn’t take away the protection of the law of the country where you normally live.
Consumers can settle a dispute out of court through the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Prague 2, www.coi.gov.cz. Please write to us first, though; we sort most things out quickly.
